About our information

This page explains exactly what our listings are, and what they are not, so you can judge how much weight to give them.

What each review label means

Source checked
A person opened the organisation's own published page on the review date and confirmed that the details shown here match it. This is not an assessment of care quality.
Listing only
Details were copied from a public listing or directory and have not been checked against the organisation's own page. Treat them as a starting point.
Needs review
This record is older than our review window or has known gaps. Confirm the details directly with the service before relying on them.
Reported unavailable
Someone reported that this service has paused, closed or stopped accepting new people. It is kept visible so you are not sent to a dead end.

What we never do

  • We do not score or rank the clinical quality of any service.
  • We do not write, collect or display user reviews or star ratings.
  • We do not say a service is “verified”, approved or recommended by us.
  • We do not fill in a gap with a guess: unknown details read “Not confirmed”.
  • We do not give medical advice, and we are not a substitute for your care team.

The “Help me find resources” assistant

The assistant is optional. Everything it can reach is in the ordinary search, and the directory works normally when the assistant is switched off or unavailable.

  • Your sentence is sent once to a language model through Lovable AI Gateway (currently Google Gemini 2.5 Flash) for one purpose only: turning it into search filters such as need, country, delivery method, language and cost.
  • We do not store your words. They are held in memory for the length of the request and are not written to our database or our logs. We cannot control how long the model provider retains a request for abuse monitoring, so please leave medical history out.
  • Your words never go into the page address, a link you could share, or analytics. Only the resulting filters — need, place, delivery, language, cost — are carried into search.
  • The model never sees our records and never writes the result text. Every result, reason line and gap statement is generated from stored fields, so text inside a listing is treated as data and can never act as an instruction.
  • The assistant does not diagnose, advise on treatment, or decide eligibility for assistance or a clinical trial. Contacting or applying is always your own action.

Office location and area served

These are two different things and we keep them apart. A national grant programme may have one office and serve a whole country; an online group may have no office at all. Filtering by country matches where the help is delivered, so remote and nationwide services are never hidden behind a map pin.

Something out of date?

Details change often, especially waiting lists and funding. Always confirm with the service itself before travelling or applying. You can tell us about a change or a missing service, though submissions are not switched on in this prototype.
