Care partners

Partners, family members and friends carry a large part of life with MS, often without being asked how they are doing. Support exists for you too, and you do not have to be the person with the diagnosis to use this directory.

What often helps

  • Talk to people in the same position

Many peer groups and helplines are open to care partners, some specifically for them.

    Find peer support
  • Make the practical load lighter

Equipment loans, home adaptations and occupational therapy reduce daily lifting, driving and improvising.

    Find equipment and adaptations
  • Check what money support exists

Carer allowances, travel costs and grant programmes are frequently missed. Guidance services can check your situation with you.

    Get financial help
  • Keep your own appointments

Care partners routinely delay their own health checks. Booking yours is part of sustaining the care you give.
